Both Sammie and Celah together. Sammie is on the left. The beauceron was bred and used in France for herding.  They can travel for miles with-out tiring, and thus do need regular exercise.  Living in Southern Pines, N.C., a golf community, we can take our dogs out on the golf course in the evening and let them run.   Their Herding instinct keeps them from going too far without looking to see where we are, circling back to check on us, then running ahead again.  They constantly keep an eye on us as we do on them.  Sometimes we have to wonder who is in charge of who!
